The following information was provided by the Cherry Hill Police Department.
In response to several residential burglaries reported during daytime hours, the Cherry Hill Police conducted a plainclothes detail in an effort to identify a suspect. During this detail a 46-year-old man from Camden was detained walking in the area of the burglaries and detectives identified him as a subject wanted by Voorhees Township.
While being detained detectives also observed that the male was wearing identical footwear, which matched photographs taken at the scene of a previous burglary under investigation. The subject was arrested at that time by Voorhees Township and remanded to Camden County Jail on the outstanding Voorhees charge. As a result of the suspects identification detectives were able to locate a secondhand sale he completed of items similar to those taken in one of the burglaries. The items were later confirmed to be property taken during one of the subject burglaries. Cherry Hill Detectives subsequently interviewed the suspect who admitted to committing five burglaries over the course of a three-week period.
The suspect was charged with five counts of burglary and theft. The suspect was later remanded to Camden County Jail in default of $37,500 cash bail.
