Burglary, shoplifting tops Cherry Hill Police report this week.

The following information was provided by the Cherry Hill Police Department.

On Jan. 7, Cherry Hill Police responded to the 2800 block of Church Road for report of a burglary. Unknown actors entered the residence between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on this date. Proceeds were cash and a Family First card. This incident is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit.

On Wednesday, Jan. 7, a woman from Camden was arrested and charged with shoplifting and other charges after attempting to leave Walmart without paying for merchandise, specifically electronics, valued at $269.64.

On Thursday, Jan. 8, Cherry Hill Police responded to the unit block of Hoffman Avenue for report of a burglary. Unknown actors forced open a side door to gain entry into the residence. Proceeds were jewelry, cash and electronics. This incident occurred on this date between 8 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. The Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit is investigating this case.

On Jan. 8, a woman from Westville was charged with theft after failing to return a rental vehicle that was to be returned to Hertz Car Rental on Aug. 29, 2014.

On Friday, Jan. 9, a man from Philadelphia was arrested and charged with shoplifting after attempting to leave the Nordstrom Department store without paying for concealed merchandise, specifically clothing, valued at $247.60.

On Friday, Jan. 9, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Kresson Road at Howard Johnson Road for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a man from Voorhees was arrested and charged with possession of prohibited weapons, specifically brass knuckles.

On Saturday, Jan. 10, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 and Hillview Drive for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a man from Pennsauken was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and other related charges.

On Saturday, Jan. 10, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 70 and Springdale Road for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a woman from Marlton was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and other related charges.

On Monday, Jan. 12, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 70 and Brookmead Drive for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a man from Marlton was arrested and charged with possession of narcotic pills without a prescription.

On Thursday, Jan. 8, Cherry Hill Police responded to the Macy’s Department store at the Cherry Hill Mall for report of a disturbance. Through investigation by police, a man from Sewell was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of narcotic pills without a prescription.

On Saturday, Jan. 10, Cherry Hill Police responded to the Wegman’s store for report of a shoplifter that had fled on foot after he assaulted the Wegman’s loss prevention officer. While the loss prevention officer was attempting to apprehend the male outside the store, the male threw a basket containing the stolen merchandise striking the loss prevention officer in the hand and face. Police arrived and located the male. The man, a Merchantville resident, was subsequently arrested and charged with robbery and other related charges.

Through investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit and the Cinnaminson, Gloucester Township and Evesham Police Investigative Units, on Friday Jan. 9, a man from Glendora was identified and charged with receiving stolen property. This male had stolen concrete forms from Evesham on Dec. 27. As he was in transport, the forms fell from his truck onto the roadway in Cherry Hill.

On Friday, Jan. 9, Cherry Hill Police responded to the Walmart store for report of a theft that had just occurred. When they arrived, two suspects from Camden were attempting to leave the parking lot in a vehicle. The police conducted a motor vehicle stop on the parking lot. Through police investigation, a man was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and shoplifting. A woman was charged with receiving stolen property, shoplifting and possession of an imitation controlled dangerous substance.

On Monday, Jan. 12, Cherry Hill Police responded to Kohl’s for report of a theft that had just occurred. A woman from Mt. Holly left in a vehicle. Responding police units located the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Through police investigation, the woman was arrested and charged with shoplifting, possession of heroin and other related charges.

Through investigation by the Cherry Hill Investigation Unit, on Monday, Jan. 12, a woman from Philadelphia was identified and charged with forgery and other related charges. This individual cashed fraudulent checks totaling $1570.90 at the Republic Bank in Cherry Hill on Oct. 27, 2014.

On Wednesday, Jan. 14, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop at Cuthbert Boulevard and Hampton Road for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a man from Camden was arrested and charged with possession of narcotic pills without a prescription.

On Tuesday, Jan. 13, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on South Kings Highway at Route 70 for a traffic violation. Through investigation, police located several prescription blanks that were reported stolen and also ones that had been fraudulently filled out. Two men from Trenton and a woman from Ewing were arrested and all charged with receiving stolen property and purpose to defraud.

On Wednesday, Jan. 14, Cherry Hill Police responded to the 400 Block of Burnt Mill Road for report of a burglary. Unknown actor forced open a side door of the residence sometime between 10:10 and 11:30 a.m. Proceeds were jewelry. This incident is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit.

On Wednesday, Jan. 14, a Cherry Hill Police Officer located a stolen vehicle traveling on Route 70 near the Garden State Pavilions. Additional patrol units responded to the area and a motor vehicle stop of the stole vehicle was conducted on the lot of the Wawa on Route 70. Through investigation by police, a man from Monroeville was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of narcotic pills with a prescription and other related charges. A man Camden, woman from Lawnside and woman from Sicklerville were also charged with possession of narcotic pills without a prescription.

On Wednesday, Jan. 14, a man from Philadelphia was arrested and charged with shoplifting and theft by deception after attempting to leave the Nordstrom Rack store without paying for concealed merchandise, specifically jewelry. In addition, this individual also switched the price tag of a pair of boots valued at $199.97 to reflect the new price of $39.97.

On Thursday, Jan. 15, Cherry Hill Police responded to the 200 block of Third Avenue for report of a burglary to a shed. Unknown actors entered an unlocked shed and removed a snow blower and two leaf blowers. The time frame is between Jan. 13 and Jan. 15. This incident is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit.

On Thursday, Jan. 15, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop at Route 38 and Rudderow Avenue for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a woman from Pennsauken was arrested and charged with possession of narcotic pills without a prescription and other related charges.

On Friday, Jan. 16, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop at Route 38 and Hillview Avenue for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a woman from Camden was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and other related charges.
