The Medford Education Foundation invites the community to support its ninth annual “Dine Out for Education” which will take place all day on Tuesday, Feb. 3. Whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner, take out or eat in, each restaurant has committed to donating 15 percent of the day’s sales from all customers who tell their server that they are “dining out” for education. Participating restaurants include Zinc Café, Ott’s Restaurant, Jasmine Oriental Cuisine, JB Master Grill, Femmina Italian Grill, LaPiccola Cuccina Italiana, Braddock’s Tavern, Illiano Cucino Mediterranea, The Medport Diner, Branco’s Pizza, Fortune Cookie Chinese restaurant and Tarantella Ristorante. Reservations are encouraged.
“We are very grateful for the support we receive from the Medford business community for this event”, said Tommie Ann Gibney, president of the Medford Education Foundation. “Dine Out grows in popularity each year and, as a result, we are able to add more and more participating restaurants. By sponsoring family-friendly activities like this, it is our goal not only to raise funds for the benefit of the Medford Township Public Schools, but also to foster community spirit within Medford Township”.
Since 2004, the Medford Education Foundation has raised nearly $600,000 for the benefit of the Medford Township Public Schools and its students for things such as mobile laptop laboratories, technology upgrades and the purchase of independent reading books. Funds raised by the Medford Education Foundation are also used for the foundation’s Education Grant Program which supports teachers and encourages creativity in the classroom for the benefit of Medford’s students by providing resources for extraordinary educational experiences such as hands-on classroom projects, field trips, art, music and drama programs, enhanced STEM education, guest speakers, assemblies and access to technology.
