The First United Methodist Church of Moorestown will host its 200th Anniversary Event with the Ugandan Kids Choir. The event will take place on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship.
The choir consists of ten children from Uganda, five boys and five girls, ages 8 to 12, who perform traditional African singing, dancing and drumming as well as some contemporary Christian songs, with an African “twist.” They bless audiences of all ages as they share the joy and hope they have found through Jesus Christ and child sponsorship through Childcare Worldwide.
The choir’s mission is to raise awareness and engage individuals in sponsoring children in the developing world, who are living in poverty, providing them with education as well as spiritual and ethical training, leading to a better future.
The church is located at the corner of Camden and Pleasant Valley Avenues and its facilities meet the standards set by the American Disabilities Act for general access. Admission is free, the public is most welcome and a free-will offering will be taken. Childcare will be provided.
