Medford Twp. Police arrest man who threatened to kill mother and brother

The following information was provided by the Medford Township Police Department.

On Dec. 14 at 10:51 a.m., Medford Township Police and Evesham Township Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Hopewell Road for the report of an armed subject threatening homicide and suicide. Responding officers were able to make contact with the man and take him into custody without incident.

An investigation revealed that during the previous evening, the man pointed a loaded shotgun at his mother and brother and threatened to kill them. He then discharged twelve rounds from the shotgun in the rear of the residence. The rounds struck propane bottles, a table and the roof of the residence. No one was injured as a result of the incident.

The man was charged with two counts of criminal attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of terroristic threats, one count of criminal mischief, one count of unlawful possession of a shotgun, one count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and certain persons not to possess weapons. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $250,000 full bail.
