Representative from the Mt. Laurel Democratic Club delivered several boxes of food on Nov. 25 to the food bank at Jacobs Chapel on Elbo Lane in Mt. Laurel. The food was collected from the club’s membership.
“While the club’s primary mission is to work toward the election of Democratic candidates, we also feel its important that we support an give back to our community,” club president Andy Douglas said.
The president of Jacobs Chapel Missionary Society, Leslie Groce, thanked the club for its participation in the event.
The food bank at Jacobs Chapel works through the South Jersey Food Bank in Pennsauken, providing boxes of staples to 32 families in Mt. Laurel and the surrounding area.
The club will also be conducting its annual toy drive in December and will donate children’s toys to Jacobs Chapel before Christmas.
