HOPE Church hosts a bunch of holiday events this season

There are so many things about the Christmas season that can leave us feeling stressed out and out of sorts. If you want to change your focus this year, and bring the true meaning of Christmas into clearer view, check out some of the activities going on at HOPE Church, located at 700 Cooper Road in Voorhees.

On Saturday, Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m., HOPE Church will hold its annual Christmas Tree-Lighting event where the entire community is invited to come out for some good, old-fashioned Christmas fun. Be sure to bring the whole family, friends and neighbors to this free holiday celebration. We will have an outdoor stage filled with performers, booths with fun children’s activities, including a both sponsored by the KLOVE radio station; hot chocolate and cider; popcorn and cookies; and even that bearded guy in the red suit.

The Kids of HOPE invite you to their performance of “The Mystery of the Manger” on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. This musical centers on an investigative reporter, Jane Blonde, who is searching for the facts. She attends the rehearsal for the Christmas pageant looking for answers and the children help her discover the truth about Jesus. Begin your Christmas season celebrations with our children as they gather the facts and examine the evidence of Jesus’ birth. Nursery is available.

December can be a very hectic time of year with concerts, office parties, tree lightings and special church events. Most of these activities are good and enjoyable, but sometimes all that busyness can get in the way of experiencing the full joy of the season. Make room for Wednesdays, Dec. 10 and 17 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a time of worship and reflection on the Kingdom of God. Nursery is available. Our Family Ministry will offer programs for children from age 3 to fifth grade during that time as well.

The Worship Arts Ministry of HOPE Church will present “Casting Call” on Sunday, December 14 at4:30 p.m. Join us as the Director is desperately trying to find the right cast for this year’s Christmas production. In the process, the actors begin to understand that this is not like any other audition. They discover that Jesus came so that we may have life. Join us as Voices of HOPE, HOPE Players, and HOPE’s worship bands present “Casting Call”.

Our very popular Family Christmas Candlelight Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 3 pm. Come experience candlelight worship at HOPE and be amazed once again with the birth of our Savior. There will be three Christmas Candlelight Services held on Wednesday, December 24. Times are 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and then again at 9 p.m. Childcare is available for the 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. worship service. Visitors are expected!
