On Saturday, Nov. 15, and Sunday, Nov. 16, Johnson’s Corner Farm in Medford will hosts their annual Thanksgiving Pie-Tasting Party. The public will have an opportunity to sample over 20 varieties of fresh baked pies. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
“It’s truly a party that we look forward to each and every year,” said Eric Johnson, who owns and operates the farm with his brother Pete Johnson. “The weekend is more than just sampling pies, it’s a time of fellowship with our customers and the community.”
Keeping with the Johnson’s Corner Farm commitment of giving back to the community, this is the second year the Johnson brothers are turning their pie-tasting party into a fundraiser for Camden non-profit, UrbanPromise.
Customers will be asked to make a donation of $3 to attend the tasting and 100 percent of all money raised will go to UrbanPromise’s Thanksgiving Dinner Fund. Each year UrbanPromise hosts over 600 youth and adults for their Thanksgiving celebration dinners.
“Johnson’s has been an incredible blessing to our organization,” said Jodina Hicks, UrbanPromise executive director. “They host our annual Pedal for Promise cycling fundraiser each May, they invite our youth and staff out to the farm in the fall for pumpkin picking, and they continue to bless us by using the pie-tasting party as a fundraiser for our Thanksgiving dinners we host in Camden each year.”
Johnson’s hopes to raise $2,500 for UrbanPromise over the entire weekend.
