Residents will see a familiar face as well as a new face on the Shamong Township Board of Education in the wake of the election held Nov. 4.
Board president and incumbent Melissa Ciliberti and Susan Daniels defeated David Rosenthal for the two vacant seats on the board. Ciliberti received 686 votes, 36.35 percent, Daniels received 695 votes, 36.83 percent and Rosenthal received 496 votes, 26.29 percent.
Incumbent Martin Mozitis (R) was re-elected to his seat on the township committee. Mozitis ran unopposed.
In the U.S. Senate election, Cory Booker (D) defeated Jeff Bell (R) by a tally of 997,331 votes to 762,981. Tom MacArthur (R) defeated Aimee Belgard (D) 95,166 to 75,972 in the third congressional district election.
In the freeholder election, republicans Bruce Garganio and Mary Ann O’ Brien defeated democrats Tom Pullion and Michael Schmidt with 52.55 percent of the vote.
