Letter to the Editor: Barry Fitzgerald for Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education
While the Town council election on Nov. 4 is taking center stage, let’s not forget that we also have a responsibility that day to elect a representative for the Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education as our Evesham representative. There is one seat on the Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education to be decided. I highly recommend the following candidate:
Barry Fitzgerald is running for that position on the LRHSD BOE. His experience, speaks for itself. One year on the Lenape BOE and seven years on the Evesham BOE and one as president.
I believe that there is no better candidate for this position due to his experience, but for me just as importantly, because of his dedication to Evesham Township. I am a very active resident of Evesham Township and I attend or participate in many activities in Evesham.
Everywhere I go, Barry is there, volunteering his time for this community or attending community events as a representative of the Marlton Rec Council and various other organizations. The obvious benefits to the community are what residents observe; community events that have been brought back to our community or new events that have been created to foster a sense of community.
Additionally, Barry can be seen at Evesham Council meetings, MRC meetings, Evesham BOE meetings and various Cherokee athletic games, among others. These represent opportunities for residents to approach and get to know Barry. If elected they will be able to ask about and comment about the LRHSD, as well as opportunities for Barry to interact with other community leaders as one of Evesham’s LRHSD members.
These interactions will allow Barry to blend the visions of the residents with the fiscal realities our leaders face, all with the goal of making the LRHSD, and more specifically, Cherokee High School, the best place for our young adults to get prepared for their futures, while enjoying their high school experience. Visibility and interaction.
Barry has a high level of both of these with Evesham residents from the many residents who he volunteers with or just spends time with at community events, to our leaders who share with him the common goal of continuing to make Evesham Township a first rate community, and Cherokee High School a first rate school.
I therefore highly support, and recommend Barry Fitzgerald for Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education.
