The Voorhees district is pleased to offer a parent presentation that will help protect both you and your child regardless of age on various social media networks. The presentation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Voorhees Middle School Theater.
PJ’s & Coffee, a Philadelphia based company social media company, will be present this important program.
The Child Safety and Social Media presentation is intended to give parents, guardians, teachers and children/students a detailed and informative explanation of the dangers of social media and how to not only avoid, but manage social media in a way that is still interactive and entertaining.
Moreover, the presentation gives specific instructions to illustrate how to maintain the securest of privacy settings on various social media networks. The presentation will also alert caretakers as to what to look for on their children’s social media that may indicate trouble is brewing.
The presentation aims to answer the following questions:
- Would you like to have a better understanding of social media in your child’s world?
- Is your child unknowingly jeopardizing his future with his/her activity online?
- How can your child be linked to an event or situation even if she/he was not present?
The presentation will review the following social media sites:
- FourSquare
- SnapChat
- Others
In addition, the program will stress that whatever is posted on social media is on the Internet permanently forever, even if the post/picture/tweet is deleted.
