The Camden County Library is hosting a six-week workshop for those suffering a chronic disease or for their caregivers at its Voorhees Branch starting Thursday, Sept. 18 through Thursday, Oct. 23.
Each two and a half hour workshop from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. is being presented by the Community Planning and Advocacy Council, Camden County Department of Health and Human Services and Camden County Senior Corps.
Learn practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue; discover better nutrition and exercise choices. Participants can understand new treatments and learn more effective ways to talk with doctors and family members about health concerns and issues.
“We know that there are thousands of families in Camden County dealing with chronic disease or caring for a loved one for an extended period of time,” Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez said. “This workshop will open up new options and opportunities for assistance and help with the challenges. Our hope is to bring facilitators together to make hard choices easier and let residents know that there are nonprofits that can help.”
A one-time registration is required and includes all six workshops in the series. Registration is free. Call the Voorhees branch at (856) 772–1636 x7353 or go online at www.camdencountylibrary.org/events.
