Letter to the Editor: New jobs numbers are misleading

As the president cheered the creation last month of 288,000 jobs, few bothered to look behind the numbers.

The creation of the 288,000 jobs is the result of a loss of 523,000 full-time jobs, and the creation of some 800,000 part-time jobs.

This is all according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in case you wondered.

“We are headed in the right direction,” Obama said.

Really?

A record low 47.7% of Americans, these days, are working full-time.

So what’s happening here?

Very simple, straight forward and predictable (except by this administration) companies, by the thousands are cutting workers’ hours to avoid Obamacare’s requirement to provide health insurance to people working 30 hours or more per week.

In case you wondered why the unemployment rate in the U.S. is heading down, and the economy, as well as peoples’ take-home pay, is going nowhere, now you know!

As the architect of ObamaCare, did you really expect the president to come out and tell it as it is?

Of course not! After five and a half year, you should have gotten used to this kind of double-talk.
