WEATHER UPDATE: Evesham Fourth of July list of events

UPDATED DUE TO ANTICIPATED WEATHER CONDITIONS

American flags, barbecues, the Mayor’s Cup 5k, a parade and a spectacular fireworks display are part of the Evesham Township tradition when celebrating America’s Independence.

More than 30,000 people will be flooding Main Street and Cherokee High School for the epic celebration.

Residents and visitors will experience a well-rounded Fourth of July celebration, beginning with the Mayor’s Cup 5k in front inside of the firehouse on Main Street.

“It’s truly a rewarding start to the day, to be running with neighbors and friends,” Mayor Randy Brown said. “Athletes, runners, people running for fun and those attempting their first 5k, attend the Mayor’s Cup. For me, mingling with a mix of community members is the true reward after crossing the finish line.”

Shortly At 12 p.m. after the Mayor’s Cup 5k, hundreds of children will commence the bike parade down Main Street. Marlton’s youth will be exemplifying their best patriotism with smiles on their faces.

At 11 a.m. 12:30 p.m., Evesham’s finest, Cherokee High School Band, the Fire-Rescue Squad, Mummers and a long line of joyful noise will fill Main Street as the large parade rolls through.

“This is genuinely an important moment for the community,” Brown said.

Crowds will begin to gather at 7 p.m. at Cherokee High School for food, fun and games.

Promptly at 9:30 p.m., the fireworks spectacular will begin.

The day will end by lighting the sky with an incredible fireworks display. It is a day Evesham Township can show what it’s all about and what it has to offer its residents in terms of community and American pride.

The Fourth of July celebration is fully funded by the Evesham Celebrations Foundation, a non-profit organization promoting community experiences throughout Evesham Township. Events are made possible through private donations and sponsorships.

“We’re excited to work as a partnership with the ECF. The township employees, police department and ECF make an incredible team for a memorable day,” Brown said.

The Fourth of July itinerary is as follows:

7–8:15 a.m.: Marlton Mayor’s Cup 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk Registration inside the Main Street Fire House
