The New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association recently honored 10 Camden County high school students for their achievements as scholar-athletes.
The students were invited to attend the annual Scholar-Athlete Luncheon, where, through a random drawing, they had the chance to win a college scholarship from one of multiple sponsors. A total of $3,000 was awarded to four of the Camden County athletes.
Since 1993, the NJSIAA has honored more than 6,000 New Jersey high school students and distributed more than $1 million in college scholarships through its scholar program. In 2014 alone, NJSIAA honored more than 325 high school students throughout the state and awarded 194 students a total of $149,500.

Administrators at each NJSIAA member high school have the opportunity to select one senior student as their scholar-athlete of the year. The scholarships are donated by NJSIAA corporate sponsors and other organizations supportive of high school sports in New Jersey. While some scholarships are only available to students attending schools in specific counties or participating in specific sports, most are offered statewide to students in all sports. There is a limit of one scholarship per student athlete.
