Recycle gently used clothes at the Burlington County ‘Stop and Drop’ Earth Fair
Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio announced today that the Freeholders will offer residents an easy way to repurpose a variety of gently used textiles at this year’s ‘Stop & Drop’ event as part of Earth Fair, to be held on Sunday, June 22.
“Our goal is to provide residents with more free and convenient options to keep useable items out of our landfill,” said Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio. “The ‘Stop and Drop’ has been a popular part of Earth Fair and we hope this added option will become an annual tradition and make the event even more successful.”
The ‘Stop and Drop’ Earth Fair event, which also offers paper shredding and electronics recycling, will now be expanded to include a one-day collection point for gently used clothing, shoes, belts, purses, household linens and stuffed animals.
“The textiles will be repurposed by Turnkey Enterprises LLC, a family owned, New Jersey company.” Garganio explained, “Turnkey offers clothing collection fundraising programs for the Boy Scouts of America, American Legions, fire and rescue squads and other civic groups.”
The ‘Stop and Drop’ will be located just down the road from Smithville Mansion at Smith Woods, 33 Railroad Avenue and will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the June 22.
