Pair of Wawa shoplifting cases, Hilltop Drive vandalism in Mt. Laurel Police report

An employee of 7C Maintenance Comapny on Gaither Drive reported a fraud. Unidentified persons forged several corporate checks and cashed them in Miami, Fla. The total amount of the checks was over $8,000. The incidents occurred between May 1 and May 31 of this year.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 21-year-old male of the 400 block of Prospect Avenue, Berlin, on June 9 for theft. He was arrested for stealing jewelry valued at $2,000 from a residence while working there as an electrician on May 2. He was charged with theft and released pending a municipal court hearing.

An employee of the Wawa on Route 73 reported a shoplifting. The incident occurred on June 9 at approximately 4 a.m. A male, thin build, approximately 25 years old, between five and six feet tall, was observed walking behind the counter and taking a pack of cigarettes valued at $7.85.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 36-year-old male of the 800 block of Bedford Lane, New Castle, Del., on June 9 for being a wanted person. Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Nixon Drive in the area of Interstate 295, he was found to be wanted by the Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Office for violation of probation. He was taken into custody and lodged at the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

A resident of the unit block of Oakhurst Lane reported a criminal mischief. The incident occurred between 6:30 p.m. June 4 and 12 noon June 8. A basketball net was cut from the rim of a portable basketball system in front of the residence. Damage is estimated at $25.

A resident of the unit block of Barton Way reported a credit card fraud. Several unauthorized purchases in the amount of $105.45 were made at unspecified locations using the victim’s credit card account. The incidents occurred between 12 noon May 5 and 8:25 p.m. May 12.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 24-year-old male of the 11000 block of Nebel Street, Rockville, Md., on June 11 for being a wanted person. Subsequent to a disorderly persons call at a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73 at 1:14 p.m., he was found to be wanted by the Montgomery County, Maryland Sheriff’s Office for aggravated assault. He also provided false information to police in an attempt to avoid arrest. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and hindering and lodged at the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

A resident of the 100 block of Bastian Drive reported a criminal mischief. The incident occurred between 7:45 a.m., and 10:30 a.m., June 11. A mailbox was knocked to the ground. Damage is estimated at $10.

An employee of the Wawa on Route 73 reported a shoplifting. The incident occurred on June 13 at 3:23 a.m. Four black males left the store without paying for food, valued at approximately $20. They were observed leaving the area in a black sedan prior to police arrival.

A resident of the unit block of Hilltop Drive reported a criminal mischief. The incident occurred between 6 p.m., June 12, and 6 a.m., June 13. A street sign was removed from the corner of the intersection and placed on the front lawn of the residence.

A resident of the unit block of Oakhurst Lane reported a credit card fraud. More than $1,200 in fraudulent purchases were made using the victim’s credit card account number. The purchases were made at several locations in New York State between 9 a.m. June 11 and 9 a.m. June 13.

A resident of the unit block of Southgate Drive reported a burglary and theft to a residence. The incident occurred on June 13, between 8:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Entry was gained by forcing the basement casement window. Prescription medication, valued at an unspecified amount, was taken. The suspects are believed to have known the victim.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 24-year-old male of the unit block of Baker Boulevard, Marlton, on June 14 for being wanted by the Burlington County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody subsequent to a motor vehicle stop at 2:12 a.m. on Church Street in the area of Greentree Road and lodged at the Burlington County Jail pending a court hearing.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 29-year-old male of the 400 block of Magnolia Road, Mt. Laurel, on June 14, for driving while intoxicated. He was stopped on Hartford Road in the area of Sixth Avenue at 3:39 a.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

A patron of the Larchmont Shopping Center, located on the 3100 block of Route 38, reported harassment. The incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the shopping center. A heavy set male, reported to be in his 20’s, short hair, wearing a white tee shirt and dark shorts, approached a female victim and stated he liked her feet and that he had a foot fetish. The suspect then touched her foot and ran off.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 26-year-old male of the 1000 block of Wharton Road, Mt. Laurel, on June 15, for driving while intoxicated. He was stopped on Elbo Lane at Saw Mill Drive at 3:11 a.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

A resident of the 1000 block of Augusta Circle reported a theft from a vehicle. The incident occurred between 10:45 p.m., June 14, and 9:45 a.m., June 15. A satellite radio, cash, and jewelry, valued at approximately $90, were taken. There was no sign of forced entry to the vehicle.

An employee of Viking Sewing Gallery, located in Joanna Fabrics on Centerton Road, reported a theft. A sewing machine, valued at $199, was taken from the business. The incident occurred between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., June 14.

An employee of the ShopRite on Union Mill Road reported a shoplifting. The incident occurred on June 15 at 3:10 p.m. A subject was observed leaving the store with $43.14 in merchandise. Shoplifting complaints were signed by ShopRite Loss Prevention.
