One Love Animal Rescue in Mt. Laurel is the recipient of a pro bono surgery day to be offered by Old York Veterinary Hospital on Sunday, June 22. Having the opportunity to get free, surgical veterinary care is a positive for an animal rescue.
Working on a tight budget, this generous gift will provide significant savings for the rescue. One Love is planning to schedule five animals for treatment whose surgical requirements range from dental care to sterilizations.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Dr. (Helen) Campbell working closely with us on a regular basis to care for our animals,” said Sherri Smith, chairman of One Love Animal Rescue. “Being offered a day of pro bono surgery gives us the chance to save thousands of dollars and allows us to help more animals in the process.”
Campbell has a full practice, and in fact, is no longer taking on new patients. When asked why this work is so important to her, she said, “All of the staff at Old York Veterinary Hospital recognize the tireless efforts of those involved in rescue work. We accept our role in helping One Love provide the best care possible to the animals they rescue.”All of the humans and animals at One Love are grateful to Campbell and her staff at Old York Vet for the skilled, compassionate care they provide.
