Approximately 50 Lenape High School ChemClub members participated in the annual Science Outreach program at Hartford School in Mt. Laurel.
Each group of high school students presented an 80-minute lesson to a room full of sixth grade students. They designed their own lessons, which consisted of many chemical demonstrations and hands-on activities for the kids to do along with them.
The program has now come full circle, with the students currently presenting having once been spectators of the same program approximately six years ago at Hartford.
“The ChemClub students have said that their experience 6 years ago was a positive one and that they wanted to give the same experience back to promote a love of science in a curious young scientific mind,” said Kim Condurso, the advisor for the ChemClub.
