Lee Sheilds, certified public accountant and partner at Friedman LLP in Marlton, has been elected to serve on the Board of Trustees of Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice.
Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice is the regional leader for hospice and palliative care, grief support and counseling, end-of-life education, research and advocacy. The nonprofit organization serves people in Mercer, Camden, Burlington, Gloucester and Atlantic counties who are coping with serious illness or grief.
“Lee’s leadership and financial expertise will help us raise awareness of the potential advantages of charitable estate planning and enlisting needed support, while bringing value to our generous donors,” said Liz Thomas, chair of Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice’s Board of Trustees. “Charitable contributions allow Samaritan to fulfill and advance our not-for-profit mission — giving the gift of hospice to all of our patients and families, regardless of their ability to pay. Lee is sure to play a vital role in forwarding this initiative.”
Sheilds has more than 20 years of public accounting and tax experience. He serves clients in a wide variety of industries, including real estate, manufacturing, distribution, technology, legal and medical practices.
In addition to his role as partner of Friedman LLP, Sheilds is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He also serves as board member and treasurer of LeTip of Cherry Hill and Markeim Art Center, as well as a board member for the American Red Cross — Camden and Burlington County Chapter, Junior Achievement of New Jersey, Stratford Athletic Organization and John Paul II School.
Sheilds received a bachelor’s degree from Elon University. He is licensed as a CPA in the state of New Jersey. He currently resides in Stratford.
