Lenape is preparing for a battle against district-rival Cherokee on Thursday after the Indians defeated Washington Twp. 17–2 at home on Monday afternoon.
The Indians are the number-one seed in the South Jersey Group IV bracket. They led the Minutemaids 10–1 at halftime and scored four times in the game’s first two minutes.
Senior Nicole Donnelly and freshman Gabriella Fornia were the leading forces offensively for Lenape, scoring four goals a piece. Senior Rena Carabases and junior Natalie Peel also scored three times each.
The winner of Thursday’s game between Lenape and Cherokee will advance to the South Jersey Group IV championship game on May 28.
