Mt. Laurel Police arrest two suspects after attempted car theft.

Mt. Laurel Police, with the assistance of the New Jersey State Police, arrested a 30-year-old male of the unit block of Hepburn Lane, Willingboro, and a 23-year-old male of the 100 block of South Olden Avenue, Trenton on March 3 for attempted auto theft.

A resident on Chadbury Road started his vehicle and left it unattended in his driveway at 6:15 a.m. on March 3 to warm up. Shortly thereafter he observed the 23-year-old attempting to break into the car to steal it and called 911. The suspects fled the scene after being spotted by the resident and were subsequently stopped on Interstate 295 by Mt. Laurel Police.

The 23-year-old fled on foot and was apprehended after a foot pursuit. He was charged with attempted auto theft and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $35,000. The 30-year-old was charged with conspiracy to commit auto theft with bail set at $15,000. Both were committed to the Burlington County Jail in lieu of bail.
