The Camden County Department of Public Works will temporarily alter the traffic pattern on the Woodcrest Road bridge in advance of their refurbishment. The bridge will have a traffic control plan implemented on Feb. 3.
Recent bridge inspection reports and recommendations from a recent study of the project area have determined the span is in need of structural upgrades.
The project at the Woodcrest Road Bridge in Cherry Hill Township will include temporarily narrowing of the existing lane widths from 18 feet wide to 11 feet wide and adding 7 foot wide shoulders on either side of the travel lanes. The speed over the span will be reduced to 25 miles per hour during the refurbishment.
“The work will take place under the bridges, so there should be no need to reduce the number of traffic lanes during the project, and it will be performed at night during weekends to minimize train disruption,” Leonard said.
