Medford Police make a pair of drug arrests during motor vehicle stops

The following information has been provided by the Medford Township Police Department.

On Jan. 26 at 8:52 p.m. Medford Police observed a vehicle with no operational tag lights. Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Haynes Run Circle and a subsequent investigation led to a 26-year-old male being arrested for an unrelated charge. Search incident to arrest revealed two prescription pills suspected to be 30 milligrams of oxycodone hydrochloride in a cigarette pack located in the suspect’s jacket, which he had no valid prescription for. Her was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and released pending court.

On Jan. 29 at 1:05 a.m. Medford Police observed a vehicle parked in the lot of the Sharps Run Plaza on Route 70. Investigation revealed that the driver, a 21-year-old male, was in possession of heroin and a glass pipe to smoke the heroin. He also had an outstanding traffic warrant for his arrest out of Moorestown Twp. for $164. The male was issued summons for driving with a suspended drivers license, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, and summons for the narcotic offenses.
Vartan was released pending court. The 17-year-old female had a glass pipe with marijuana residue. The female was charged and released to her mother pending court.
