February is Healthy Heart Month and the Katz JCC is recognizing this through a month-long series of programs, activities, and screenings in conjunction with Jefferson University Hospitals. This is fourth year of Healthy Heart Month programming at the JCC.
“As a leader in health and wellness facilities and programs, the JCC values the importance of keeping our community healthy. Each year we plan our Healthy Heart Month schedule to provide valuable information and programs to our members and the community,” said Jayne Miller-Morgan, Assistant Fitness Director at the Katz JCC. “Our goal is to help demonstrate how everyone can get and stay healthy in 2014.”
Featured programs taking place throughout February include free body fat and free blood pressure screenings and free classes such as laughter yoga, lunchtime spin and TRX Suspension. A free nutrition lecture and various thons and tournaments throughout the month include a Zumbathon, Spin-a-thon, Aqua-thon and a Wiffleball tournament.
Many of these classes and programs are open to the community. A calendar including a list of all programs, classes and activities will be available online at www.katzjcc.org/healthyheart or you can pick up a copy at the Katz JCC.
