Burlington County announces road resurfacing projects for 2014

Burlington County Freeholder Director Leah Arter announced today that the Board of Chosen Freeholders has approved the 2014 Burlington County Road Resurfacing Program, allowing for $7.3 million for the overlay of 22 roads in 21 municipalities for a total of 25.4 miles.

A majority of this project will be funded through the N.J. Transportation Trust Fund from which the County will receive nearly five million dollars, an increase of $430,100 from 2013. The remaining $2.3 million will be funded by the county.

“This annual initiative is essential to maintaining our county roads, and in Burlington County we do it right,” Arter said. “I am pleased to announce that based on our proven ability to effectively execute this program we will now be one of the few counties in the state to receive increased funding upfront.”

“This is an example of what good government should be — taking advantage of all available state and federal funds, and being judicious with our taxpayers’ money to deliver services to as many of our residents as possible,” Arter said.

County roads approved to be resurfaced in 2014 include:

· 0.5 miles of Bridgeboro Road from 900 feet north of the Moorestown Township line to Haverford Court in Delran Township.
· 2.4 miles of North Church Street from New Albany Road to Route 130 in Moorestown and Cinnaminson Township.
· 0.4 miles of Lenola Road from Route 38 to Kings Highway in Moorestown Township.
· 1.6 miles of Hartford Road from Hainsport-Mt Laurel Road to Route 38 in Mt. Laurel Township.
· 0.5 miles of Ark Road from Route 38 to Marne Highway in Mt. Laurel Township.
· 3.1 miles of Medford-Mt. Holly Road from county road 616 to 300 feet north of Bella Bridge Road in Medford Township.
· 2.3 miles of Church Street from Greentree Road to Teal Lane in Evesham & Mt. Laurel Townships.
