Just weeks after the Tony Award winning production closes on Broadway, NJACT Perry Award winning ShowKids Invitational Theatre brings beloved Annie to Jersey audiences. The show feature’s SKIT’s first third-generation cast member, Emma Nasto of Mt. Laurel.
Nasto, age 7, is an adorable “Molly” and is following in her mother’s footsteps as an orphan in SKIT’s production of Annie. Her mother, Krisy Nasto was also an orphan in the original cast of Annie in SKIT’s first production of the beloved musical. Emma’s grandfather, Tom Newman, played the role of “Oliver Warbucks” in the original and will again this season; and Emma’s grandmother, Carolyn Newman, has been the at the helm as ShowKids’ producer since the company’s inception in 1986. Three generations of award-winning entertainment in one family.
Annie is being presented on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. All six professional-quality performances will take place in the Voorhees High School Auditorium, Route 513, Lebanon Township.
