Police Blotter: Thieves caught stealing in home under construction

A pair of Atco residents arrested for stealing building materials from construction site.

On Dec. 31 at 2:27 a.m. ETPD responded to the area of Georgia O’Keefe Road for a report of subjects with flashlights inside a home under construction.

Arriving officers located a pair of Atco residents sitting inside of their pick-up truck that contained a full load of lumber from the construction site. Investigation determined that this was the pair’s second load of construction materials and the first load had already been transported to their residence in Atco. All stolen property was recovered by officers and returned to the construction site.

Arrested:

A 26 year old man from Atco was charged with 3rd degree theft and lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $5,000.00 bail.

A 41 year old woman from Atco was charged with 3rd degree theft and released on her own recognizance.
