Perkins Center for the Arts announces “PHOTOGRAPHY 33,” a juried exhibition of photographs by regional artists at the Perkins Center’s Moorestown Gallery. The juror, Peter Barberie, curator of photography at the Philadelphia Museum, was appointed curator of photographs, Alfred Stieglitz Center, in the Department of Prints, Drawings and Photographs, Philadelphia Museum of Art, in 2008. He was the Horace W. Goldsmith Curatorial Fellow in Photography in the Museum’s Department of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs from 2003–2007.
Work must be hand delivered and received on Friday, Jan. 10, between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Artists may enter up to three works at an entrée fee of $10 per entry. The opening reception will be Saturday, Feb. 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. This event is free and open to the public with an awards ceremony at 2 p.m. Awards include up to five Juror Awards totaling $500 for Artistic Excellence of and exhibited works will be offered to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for their photography collection with a Maximum Purchase award of $600.
