Students’ artwork exhibited at Mt. Laurel Library in January.

Mt. Laurel Library will be hosting an exhibit of artwork from students of Soohun Song from Friday, Jan. 3 through Friday, Jan. 31. A Meet the Artist Reception will be held on Sunday, Jan. 5 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Soohyun Song is an art instructor who has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Illustration and Graphic design from Utah State University. She is a freelance graphic designer and an enthusiastic teacher. Currently she volunteers at Mount Laurel Library as a children’s art instructor and runs a private studio for students of many ages. In this exhibit, a few of her students’ works are shown using different media and original ideas on paper and canvas.

Nathan Kim is an eighth grader at Harrington Middle School. He often mentions that although he enjoys other things like sports and music, he loves art because art allows him to show his imagination.

Dylan Kim is a fifth grader at Hartford Middle School. He said, “My favorite thing about art is painting. I love the fact that I can express myself on a piece of paper. During my free time, I randomly draw cartoons. I can make masterpieces”.

Chloe Seo is also a fifth grader at Hartford. She likes to draw and sing. (She is in the STEP art program at her school and a member of Princeton Girls choir.) She said she likes art because whenever she draws, it’s like something is coming to life right in front of her.

Eric Seo is a third grader at Hillside. He loves to draw cartoons and is often spotted doodling on his special drawing notebook. He is also athletic and plays ice hockey and karate.

The artwork is not for sale. Soohyun Song can be reached for more information about the exhibit at (484) 716–3355 or [email protected]. No registration is required to visit the exhibit.
