Lisa Axner DeGraffenreid, of Medford and Cape May,

died on Dec. 18 at the age of 57 after a year-long struggle with cancer.

A graduate of Drexel University and Haddonfield Memorial High School, Lisa spent her professional career as a system and application portfolio manager for software and computer systems contractors serving the federal government, including the Department of Defense, from which she held a “secret” clearance.

During her 28-year career, she worked for Basic Commerce & Industries Inc., in Moorestown; Thomas & Herbert Consulting in Silver Spring, Md.; EMTEC Inc. in Mount Laurel; and Government Technology Services, Inc. in Chantilly, Va.

She also served as a teaching assistant in the Lenape Regional High School District, as a market consultant for personal health record service for Zweena, LLC in Skillman and — during her illness — as a sales associate for Orvis in Marlton.

An award-winning government sales consultant, Lisa was named regularly to GTS’s President’s Club for outstanding sales achievement and earned similar honors in her other positions.

Lisa is survived by her two brothers, John Axner of Medford and Steven Axner of Tabernacle, and nine cousins, including Marolyn Vittese of Medford, Georgeanne Waymans of Toms River, Patty Snyder of

Mantua and Charlene Renne of Medford.

The Axners grew up in Stratford and Haddonfield and were summer residents of Cape May, where Lisa was a member of The Cottagers.

Funeral services will be private, with interment in Cold Spring Presbyterian Cemetery in North Cape May. Prayers are solicited in lieu of flowers.

A memorial service is planned for January at the Cathedral of the Woods in Medford, where Lisa was a parishioner.
