To help you get started researching your family history, Lora Kline of Medford will present three programs this fall. Lora is a professional genealogist with 25 years of experience researching her family and others. She has a certificate from Boston University’s genealogical research program and is vice-president of the Philadelphia Area Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
The first program will be on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. It is called Introduction to Family History Research and will tell you what you need to know to get started, get organized and get the thrill of discovery.
On Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7 p..m., a program called Free Online Research Sites will talk about what free sites are available with tips on using familysearch.org, government sites and other popular resources.
Finally, on Thursday, Dec. 12 a 7 p.m. there will be a session called Fee Bases Online Research Sites, which will help users out with tips for using Ancestry.com and other sites that may be worth an investment.
All three programs will be at the Cranberry Hall Senior Center, located behind the Medford Municipal Building at 17 North Main Street in Medford. A fee of $5 includes all three programs. If one is missed, it can be made up when the classes are repeated in the spring.
