Burlington County Freeholder Director Joe Donnelly praised the value and benefits of the educational opportunities at Burlington County College, affirming the county’s and college’s commitment to helping students succeed after BCC president David C. Hespe’s “State of the College” address at October’s freeholders meeting.
“Burlington County residents deserve quality education at affordable prices and Burlington County College meets that challenge with innovative ways to enhance educational opportunities while keeping costs down,” Donnelly said. “The college has had several significant achievements over the past year. The lowest tuition and fees in New Jersey, the largest graduating class in its history and excellent academic programs tailored to help students achieve their educational and career goals.”
“I am convinced the college is one of the finest community colleges in the state, if not the nation. We remain fully committed to work together to provide quality educational opportunities while keeping the cost affordable to our residents,” Donnelly said.
Hespe briefed the Freeholder board on the “State of the College” highlighting recent accomplishments and goals:
· The lowest tuition and fees in New Jersey for community colleges.
· A new first year Initiative to help beginning students succeed.
· One of the most military friendly colleges in the nation that offers new scholarships for civilian spouses and in-county tuition for military.
· $2.4 million worth of upgrades funded by the state and county that will bring cutting-edge technology to the classroom and state-of-the-art network service.
“A vibrant community college requires full support from county leaders. Burlington County College appreciates our collaboration with Freeholder director Joe Donnelly and the Freeholder Board that benefits our students and communities,” Hespe said. “We strive to add innovative programming at low costs.
