Cherry Hill couple open pet resort and spa Villa La Paws on Oct. 26
Villa La Paws, a top-rated pet resort and spa, has introduced its entirely cage-free pet daycare, boarding and grooming concept to Maple Shade.
A grand opening event, free and open the public, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Villa La Paws located at 119 East Kings Highway, Suite 101, in Maple Shade.
Festivities include Howl-O-Ween pet costume contest at 1 p.m., free professional pet pictures from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Halloween treats for kids, face painting, balloon art, food and refreshments, animal rescue groups and more.
The Maple Shade location is the first Villa La Paws on the East Coast. Some of the key features of the 7,400-square-foot pet resort and spa include five play areas, for dogs, a room for cats, a cage-free grooming shop, and two large outdoor play areas.
The resort also features 24-hour webcams accessible by pet parents online or via the resorts mobile app.
Villa La Paws, known for its around-the-clock care with pet counselors on staff 24-hours per day, seven days per week, offers dog daycare, pet grooming, overnight slumber parties and limo service.
Villa La Paws Maple Shade is owned by Cherry Hill residents and husband and wife Mike Sinko and Linda Toogood. Sinko oversees the daily operations, and Toogood, currently an account executive at Columbia Bank, assists with goal setting and overall strategic planning for the resort.
Prior to Villa La Paws, Sinko was a practicing attorney for more than 33 years. Mike has gladly hung up his coat and tie and takes his “girls,” Honeybee, a 9-year-old wheaten-cocker mix and Pixanne, a 2-year-old wheaten terrier, to work with him.
“We visited Villa La Paws in Phoenix and couldn’t wait to introduce the concept to South Jersey,” Sinko said. “Prior to our visit, we hadn’t experienced anything like Villa La Paws and its entirely cage-free, 24-hour care concept. I was amazed to walk into a quiet, calm environment where the dogs seemed at home. As pet owners, we know the peace of mind that comes with knowing your pet is happy, comfortable and well taken care of is priceless.”
To maintain a comfortable and healthy environment, Villa La Paws requires pets to pass a Good Citizens test, be current on vaccinations, to be spayed or neutered. Additionally, all counselors and staff members are knowledgeable in animal behavior to ensure safety. Villa La Paws also accommodates specific dietary and medical needs. Counselors prepare daily report cards for pet parents to keep them well informed and also lead daily activities to keep pets stimulated mentally and emotionally.
