West Jersey Chamber Music Society is starts season with Baroque concert Oct. 27
The West Jersey Chamber Music Society is starting its 2013–14 season with a Baroque bang. The concert Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church in Moorestown.
It will include two favorites — J.S. Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto №2” and Vivaldi’s “La Tempesta di Mare concerto”.
The audience will thrill to virtuoso Darin Kelly’s high notes and trills on the tiny B-flat trumpet that make the 2d a favorite among the six Brandenburg concertos. They will enjoy the masterful performances of the West Jersey Chamber Symphony as it brings to life Vivaldi’s mimicry of a storm at sea.
Completing the opening program are Telemann’s “Don Quixote” Suite and Albinoni’s Concerto in D-minor for oboe, performed by Geoffrey Deemer, a WJCMS favorite. Other soloists are Igor Szwec, violin, and Gwendolyn Roberts, recorder.
The concert, like all WJCMS concerts, begins at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church, 101 Bridgeboro Road, Moorestown.
Tickets are $20 general admission; $15 for seniors, and $10 for students. For information, go to WJCMS.org or contact the executive director at [email protected]
