AARP Tax-Aide in need of volunteers

AARP Tax-Aide is seeking volunteers to assist taxpayers in the preparation of their 2013 tax returns.

AARP Tax-Aide counselors are trained in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service and the state Division of Taxation to provide personal income tax counseling and return preparation for middle- and low-income taxpayers with special attention to those age 60 and older.

Counselors who attend orientation and training session and pass the “open-book take home examination,” provided by the IRS, will be certified to work at various locations throughout the Camden County District.

New volunteers must be available for daytime orientation and training session during November, December 2013 and/or January 2014. They must be willing to assist taxpayers two days per week during daytime hours from Feb. 1 through April 15, 2014.

AARP membership is not required to be an AARP Tax-Aide volunteer.
