More than 150 students in grades K-12 from across the Cherry Hill School District will gather on Friday, May 31, at Cherry Hill High School West for the Second Annual S.T.A.R. Games, an event that celebrates the talents of students with special needs and provides them with the opportunity to compete at a high level.
Participants in the S.T.A.R. (Specially Talented Athletes Recognized) Games will compete in track and field events, including the 40-yard dash, high-five relay race, shot put throw, standing long jump, discus throw, and low hurdles, as well as non-track events and games. The day will culminate with wiffle ball and beach volleyball games, followed by an awards ceremony at 1:00Â p.m.
The event will be held at the Jonas Morris Stadium complex behind Cherry Hill West.
Students will arrive for registration between 8:00 am and 9:00 am (depending on their grade level) and depart at 1:30Â pm.
The S.T.A.R. games will be run by teachers and administrators from the Cherry Hill Public Schools.
Students from Cherry Hill East and West will assist the certified staff with the athletic events. Parents are encouraged to come and watch the events.
