The Burlington County Freeholders with Rutgers Cooperative Extension are sponsoring a Gardening Expo at the Burlington County Community Agricultural Center in Moorestown on May 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.
“This event is a great opportunity for folks to get ready for Mother’s Day and the summer by shopping for plants and picking up gardening tips,” Burlington County Freeholder Director Joe Donnelly said. “We want our residents to enjoy the event while also gaining some gardening knowledge.”
The special pre-season Gardening Expo will feature vendors, garden clubs, live entertainment and presentations in the on-site farmhouse. Admission and parking are free.
Visitors can shop for a wide assortment of plants, hanging baskets, and more, and enjoy a variety of informative presentations, including: “Create Your Own Water Gardens”; “The Climate-Friendly Gardener”; “Make Your Own Compost”; “Pollinators’ Most Loved Plants”; “All About Daylilies”; “Landscape to Protect Water Quality”; and “Arranging Flowers: Thinking Outside the Vase”.
Kids’ activities will include make-and-take crafts, and a Mother’s Day gift project (for a nominal fee).
