The following information was taken from Voorhees Township Police Department’s announcement on Nixle.
UPDATE: According to the Voorhees Police Department, the owner of the suspicious vehicle has been identified and contacted. The Sun will have further reports as it becomes available.
According to the Camden County dispatchers office, the lockdown is over and the Route 561 is open.
Gibbsboro Police Department located a suspicious vehicle on Route 561 that is was unattended. The vehicle contained ammunition and a small bag. As a precaution, the roadway was shut down and Eastern High School placed into a Tier 1 Lockdown.
Voorhees Police and Camden County Shieriffs Bomb Squad were activated and assisting with investigation. There are no threats to the school. Voorhees Police have additional officers assigned to area schools while a search is conducted for the driver of the vehicle.
