The Burlington County Freeholders are sponsors two free Backyard Composting workshops on Saturday, April 13, at the Rutgers EcoComplex in Bordentown.
Residents can learn how to turn grass, leaves and kitchen vegetable scraps into “black gold”. The one-hour sessions will be offered at 10 and again at 11:30 a.m.
“Composting benefits the residents, the environment and the county by enriching the soil, reducing the amount of solid waste that needs to be collected, and saving valuable landfill space,” Joe Donnelly, Burlington County Freeholder Director said. “I encourage everyone to attend.”
Pre-registration is required. The complex is located at 1200 Florence-Columbus Rd., Bordentown.
