BCC donates supplies to animal shelter

Burlington County College’s students, staff, campus clubs, and community donated more than $1,000 worth of supplies to the Burlington County Animal Shelter located in the County Facilities Complex on Woodlane Road in Westampton.

“I want to truly thank Burlington County College for all the fundraising you’ve done,” Burlington County Freeholder Director Joe Donnelly said. “So many pets here need a good home and these supplies will help see them through until they can find their forever home.” Donated items included toys, cat and dog food, cleaner, towels, leashes, and much-needed tick and flea medication.

“Our students are extremely compassionate and generously give anything they can,” BCC Associate Dean of Student Activities and Campus Programs Cathy Briggs said. “BCC is committed to supporting the needs of the County’s animal shelter. Our shelter drive is popular among our students and an annual favorite. This year was no exception, as they exceeded the prior year’s donations by almost 150 percent.”

The Burlington County Animal Shelter acts as the county’s rabies control center, reunites owners with their lost pets, and provides adoptable animals a chance for a new home. For more information about Burlington County College, please call (609) 894–9311 or (856) 222–9311 or visit www.bcc.edu.
