Horticultural Society announces meeting

The monthly meeting of the Horticultural Society of South Jersey on Tuesday, April 9th at 7 p.m. at the Carman Tilelli Community Center, 820 Mercer St., Cherry Hill, presents an herb container gardening workshop.

For people who want fresh herbs all summer long, but don’t have the space to plant them in the ground, containers can be the answer. Culinary herbs can be grouped together in a large pot situated in a sunny spot just outside the kitchen door where they can be conveniently clipped and added to your favorite recipes. This hands-on workshop will demonstrate how to build a container herb garden. Bring a container, potting soil, plants of herbs you like to use in your kitchen, and tools.

Kathleen Harvey is the owner of Plant Artistry, LLC, a horticulture business that helps clients with personalized services for landscaping, curb appeal, interior displays, plant sales, and horticultural coaching.

She is currently participating in the Pennsauken Green Team, a local affiliation comprised of government and private citizens developing strategies to achieve a more Sustainable New Jersey and is very involved in gardening events in the area winning many prizes in local flower shows including the Philadelphia Flower Show.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, go to HSSJ.org.
