The Evesham Police Department has received a high volume of calls concerning the police presence at and around the Beeler School this morning.
The situation that caused the heavy Evesham Police presence:
At approximately 8:35 a.m., the Evesham Police Department responded to the area of the Beeler School to check on the well-being of a juvenile who was observed by one of the crossing guards walking away from the school crying.
Officers quickly arrived on location, established a perimeter and began search for the child.
After consulting with school officials, it was determined that all female students from all three schools were accounted for, however the description matched that of a student at Marlton Middle School who lived in the area and had been brought in to school by her mother instead of on the bus.
Contact was made with the mother and daughter and it was confirmed that she was the crying child. It was determined she was not in any distress, only upset over missing her bus.
