Did you know that as a patient, you are guaranteed certain medical rights? Some rights, such as the right to privacy or the right to obtain copies of your medical records, are guaranteed by federal laws, while other rights are often implemented by states for patient protection.
If you’d like to learn more about your rights as a patient, join the YMCA of Burlington and Camden counties for a free health and wellness seminar on Monday, Feb. 25 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Mt. Laurel YMCA, located at 59 Centerton Road in Mt. Laurel.
Led by Carole Rocco, RN, a certified case manager at Moorestown Visiting Nurses and Hospice, “Know Your Medical Rights” will cover topics including basic medical rights and how to exercise those rights. During the hour-long seminar, Rocco will discuss how to be your own advocate and receive the best care in a healthcare setting.
This event is open to the public. For more information or to register, contact Pam Hall at [email protected] or 234–6200, ext. 232. Additional seminar information is also available at www.ymca-bc.org.
