POLICE: Fire displaces two adults, one juvenile
On Feb. 5, at 9:06 p.m., Medford Township Police, Fire and EMS responded to a residence on Hartford Road for the report of a fire in an upstairs bedroom.
Upon arrival, officers evacuated the residence and attempted to suppress the fire. The Medford Township Fire Department arrived and quickly extinguished the fire. The home sustained fire damage to an upstairs bedroom, as well as smoke and water damage throughout the remainder of the residence.
An adult female sustained minor burns to her foot while attempting to extinguish the fire.
The Medford Township Police Criminal Investigations Bureau in conjunction with the Medford Township Fire Marshalls Office investigated the cause of the fire.
It was determined the fire was caused by a leak on a propane-fueled space heater, which ignited and spread to the surrounding furnishings.
The home was left uninhabitable, resulting in the displacement of three adults and one juvenile.
