During the month of February, the Katz JCC, in conjunction with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, will celebrate Healthy Heart Month.
Many events are open to the community, and help promote healthy lifestyles through fitness and nutrition.

The following events are open to the community.
On Sunday, Feb. 3, the ninth annual Spin-A-Thon will begin at 8 a.m. There will be three, one-hour sessions, each with prizes and giveaways. JCC members can participate for $10 a person and non-members for $15.
On Sunday, Feb. 17, the JCC will host its first Aqua-Zumbathon which will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at the JCC’s indoor pool. JCC members can participate for $10 a person and non-members for $15. Players from the Philadelphia Eagles will be holding a meet and greet with fans to promote the importance of a heart-healthy lifestyle immediately following at 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required for Aqua-Zumbathon.
On Tuesday, Feb. 13, the fourth Annual Zumba-Thon will be held from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. There will be free drawings, fun music and dancing. JCC members can participate for $15 a person and non-members for $20 each. Advance registration is required.
On Wednesday, Feb. 20, the JCC will host a Red Dress Continental Brunch from 10 a.m. to noon open to all women. The event will feature a lecture on, “Heart Healthy Nutrition.” Women are encouraged dress in red. There will be prizes and giveaways. JCC members can participate for $20 per person and non-members for $25. Advance registration is required.
Proceeds from the JCC’s Healthy Heart Month events will benefit the American Heart Association and the Health & Wellness Expansion Fund.
