Man charged today with vehicular homicide

Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Cherry Hill Police Chief Richard Del Campo reported that a 22-year-old man with addresses in Cherry Hill and Philadelphia has been charged in a crash that killed a pedestrian on Route 70.

He was charged Tuesday, Jan. 8 with vehicular homicide.

He was being held in the Camden County Jail on $75,000 bail.

He is accused of going between 83 and 90 miles per hour on Route 70 eastbound near Kenwood Drive in a 2008 black Chevrolet Avalanche about 8 a.m. on Sept. 7, 2012.

The speed limit in that area is 45 miles per hour.

He struck a 73-year-old man of Cherry Hill, as the victim crossed the road near his home. He had just finished a midnight shift at his job and was walking from a bus stop to his home.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
