The following is on file with the Medford Township Police Department:
On Dec. 16, at 2:24 p.m., Medford Police Fire and EMS responded to Route 70 and Eayrestown Road for a motor vehicle accident.
The driver of a 2012 Buick Lacross driven by driver number one, attempted to make a left turn from Route 70 onto Eayrestown Rd. in front of a 2009 Honda heading west on Route 70 driven by driver number two.
The vehicles impacted head-on with the collision causing both vehicles to come to a final rest off of the roadway. The 2012 Buick caught fire after the impact, and was extinguished by emergency responders on scene. Driver one was transported to Virtua Hospital Marlton by Evesham Fire-Rescue and driver two was transported to Cooper Trauma by Medford EMS.
Driver one was issued a summons for failure to yield to oncoming traffic. The intersection of Route 70 and Eayrestown Rd was partially closed for 90 minutes during the investigation and clean-up.
