Reminder: Evesham Township council will meet Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the municipal building located at 984 Tuckerton Rd.
Following the conversation at the last township council meeting on Nov. 20, a resolution will be passed tonight authorizing the planning board to investigate whether certain areas along Route 70 and Route 73 are in need of redevelopment or rehabilitation.
The township brought in Leah Bruder, township planner, to assist in planning rehabilitation and redevelopment for properties that have fallen to the wayside.
As a result, the resolution will be introduced by the council that would direct the planning board to investigate the Tri Town Plaza where the former K-Mart is located on Route 70 and Plymouth Drive, and Olga’s Diner at the intersection of Route 70 and Route 73.
“I think the council’s direction was clear, that we want to move forward to make commerce properties that are blight to the community and have them become attractive and active businesses again,” said township manager Bill Cromie on Nov. 20.
Further discussion of redevelopment and rehabilitation sites will take place during the work session portion of the meeting.
Additionally, both the Cherokee High School girls tennis team and the Marlton Lightning Red U14 boys soccer team will receive proclamations from the township for their state championship wins.
