The Moorestown Home and School Association will be holding its annual Turkey and Pie Drive on Monday, Nov. 19.
A Thanksgiving tradition, the drive provides holiday meals for local needy families. Last year, more than 150 Thanksgiving meals were collected and boxed.
Volunteer students and parents in collaboration with the guidance counselors, principals and teachers at Moorestown public schools assemble the meals. The meals include stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and vegetables.
Many of the meals, along with frozen turkeys and pies go to local families in Moorestown.
The Home and School Association will be accepting frozen turkeys and fresh or frozen pies at Maple-Dawson Park (across from Baker School) on Nov. 19 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and at the Upper Elementary School from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. A turkey collection will also be made and at the William Allan Middle School at 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Through the generous donations of the community, the Moorestown Home and School Association will be able to share the traditional meals with area families for Thanksgiving.
